To be on the mark, or on point, is to satisfy a need or to perfect something. That’s our goal for live musical performance and why we dare call ourselves, OnPoint.
OnPoint is different. We have changed the energy of live music in Hong Kong by giving you a passionate show, backed by well-structured rehearsals, excellent song choices and a family unit on stage. No long pauses between songs, leaving your guests in an awkward stance on the dance floor. No songs that are barely passable, badly performed or slightly unrecognizable until the chorus hits. Our regular clients know we can beat out any Dj in song selections, and thanks to our in-house Juno-nominated, veteran producer, Billy Alexander, we are able to take songs to the next level. One of our secrets to success is taking a classically loved song and making it musically danceable.

Meet the cast of our shows
Born in the UK, and raised in Canada, our band leader is a multitalented musician and producer versed in many genres of music. He has performed on stages across the world, singing, dancing, playing keys, and bass synth, all well as directing and organizing bands.
His music career started as a DJ in his early teens, and that set a foundation for musical cognizance and understanding the formula of what makes people get up and dance.

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Janaia is an amazing talent and the frontwoman of OnPoint. She possesses the type of vocal range associated only with the ‘greats’ and has a disarming comfort on stage. A Humber College music program graduate, music started at an early age in her household as her father was also a singer.
Janaia performs all genres of music and has 25 years in the music industry. From Hollywood to Hong Kong she has toured across the globe performing in musicals (HairSpray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wiz etc), with orchestras, major label recording studios (Sony, Warner, EMI) and 5-star hotels (Four Season HK, Mandarin Oriental).

Our bassist comes from sunny Cebu, Philippines, and has a fascinating musical background. Initially a drummer for a reggae band, Charles was compelled to take up the bass guitar when a friend urgently needed a bassist for a show and he had some experience with the guitar. As a result, doors opened up for him in the bass world due to his hidden talent. He was subsequently hired by one of Cebu’s top bands, Energy Level, and toured major venues such as Ratsky, Slabadu, Sunflower and Nasa. Eventually, an agent noticed them and offered them a contract in Hong Kong.

One of the two new members of OnPoint is Geoff Luk, a funky guitarist heavily influenced by Funk, Soul, Blues/Jazz, R&B, Hop-Hop, Rock, and New Age. After spending years living and performing in Chicago, Geoff’s musical sensibilities and unique approach have quickly positioned him as one of the most in-demand performing guitarists in the Hong Kong music scene.
- Relocated from the United States to Hong Kong in 2016
- Geoff appeared on Hunan TV’s “Singer 2018,” arranging the music and playing the guitar for pop star Tien Chong
Our second new teammate is a drummer from the beautiful and warm country of South Africa. Devon is a performing musician with a passion for music education. In his hometown of Port Elizabeth, Devon was always in high demand. Whether it was a musical theater production, a concert with the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, a jazz gig, or a tribute show with a show band, he was always an in-demand player.
- Devon taught Drums/Percussion, Steel Pans and Flute at Greenwood Primary School in Port Elizabeth for 12 years before moving to Hong Kong in early 2018
Meet Blaine, an extraordinary Australian saxophonist who has found his musical home in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. For years, Blaine has graced stages across the globe, sharing his passion and talents with audiences far and wide. It’s hard not to be captivated by his performances, as he effortlessly weaves his magical melodies with the distinct flavors of jazz, funk, and soul.
Beyond his exceptional skills as a solo artist, he has also had the opportunity to work alongside renowned canto pop artists such as Jacky Cheung and Joey Yung, to name just a few.
